Suspense continues over mayor, deputy mayor candidates in Mancherial

Suspense continues over the selection of candidates for the posts of mayor and deputy mayor of the newly created Mancherial Municipal Corporation (MCC) among the three major political parties.

The post of mayor has been reserved for BC (General). Candidates from BC communities have pinned high hopes on the elected representatives and leaders of the Congress, BJP and BRS, expecting to be considered for the much-coveted post if they manage to secure



victory in the polls. They are leaving no stone unturned to ensure electoral success.

More than three aspirants in each party are vying for the mayoral post. They are reportedly investing huge sums in publicity and efforts to appease electors, anticipating that they would eventually be chosen as the head of the civic body. 

Each aspirant is said to be spending at least Rs.1 crore in their respective divisions, eyeing the key post.
