Demanding a high-level judicial inquiry into lathi-charge on students during the march towards Parliament in Delhi over the NEET UG paper leak issue, a large number of students staged a protest at the Arts College here on Wednesday.
According to protesters, Delhi Police unleashed a lathi-charge, fired tear gas, allegedly assaulted women, besides carrying out mass detention against thousands of students for participating in the ‘Chalo
Sansad March’. They claimed that students who demanded accountability for paper leaks, unemployment and destruction of public education were met with batons instead of answers.
Protesters demanded strict action against police brutality and attacks on women and children. Students sought registration of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and wanted scrapping of the National Testing Agency and National Education Policy.
