Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders on Thursday said the State government will not implement Ayushman Bharat scheme of the Union government in Telangana and stick to a better scheme Aarogyasri.

Addressing a press conference here along with party leaders G Ramachandra Rao and others, Government Whip in Council Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said the State government's Aarogyasri scheme is much better than the Centre's Ayushman Bharat scheme.

He said the Ayushman Bharat would be applicable only to 25 per cent of the people whereas 75 per cent people were covered under the Aarogyasri scheme of Telangana government. "Aarogyasri is the best scheme in the country. Telangana government is implementing best schemes, but no BJP ruled State was implementing them," Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said. Replying to a question, Rajeshwar Reddy said that the government will not answer to the people who are making allegations every day. He said the TRS is ready to face municipal elections whenever they are held.
