A tragic road accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, claiming the lives of two youths and leaving three others critically injured at Medipally.
The accident took place near Pillar No. 97 when a speeding car lost control and rammed into a metro pillar. The impact was so severe that the vehicle was completely mangled. Eight students pursuing engineering and other degrees from Wanaparthy district were travelling from Boduppal towards IT Pocharam in a car bearing registration number TS 32 G 1888 when the mishap occurred.
According to
the police, the driver was allegedly driving at a high speed, which led to the loss of control and the fatal crash. Two students, identified as Sai Varun and Nikhil suffered serious injuries and died on the spot. Three others identified as Venkat, Rakesh, and Yashwanth had suffered serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
The remaining students, Sathvik, Harshavardhan, and Abhinav, escaped with minor injuries. On receiving information, Medipally police reached the spot and shifted the injured to a private hospital for treatment.
