Speeding Car Kills Man On Durgam Cheruvu Bridge In Madhapur

A 32‑year‑old man succumbed to injuries after being hit by a speeding high‑end car on the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge in Madhapur during the early hours of Sunday. 

The car, registered to Quantum Minerals and Metals Private Limited, a Bengaluru-based firm, crashed into the footpath and the driver fled the spot. The victim, identified as Shyam Raj, had stopped on the bridge with his wife to take photographs. 

According to Madhapur police, the couple arrived on a bike from Jubilee Hills and halted briefly on the bridge. While Shyam Raj posed for pictures, his wife was



clicking photographs. 

At that moment, the car rammed into him, causing severe injuries. Onlookers rushed to his aid and shifted him to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, Shyam Raj succumbed to his injuries later in the evening. 

The driver abandoned the vehicle at the accident spot and fled. Police suspect speeding and negligence to be the cause of the crash. 

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s wife, Madhapur police registered a case and initiated an investigation. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding driver.
