The Congress concluded its Assembly elections campaign on Tuesday with senior leader Sonia Gandhi making an emotive appeal to the elect the Congress for 'change',  to transform ‘Dorala Telangana’ (Telangana of feudal lords) into ‘Prajala Telangana’ (People's Telangana) and to fulfill the dreams of those who gave up their lives for statehood.

Saying she could not travel to Telangana, Mrs Gandhi said the party wanted to make the people’s dreams come true and give a a true and honest government.

Mrs. Gandhi added: "You have given me immense respect by calling me Sonia Amma. You treated me like a mother, I will always be grateful to you for this love and respect and will remain dedicated to you forever."

"Use all your strength this time to bring about a change," she said and ended the message with the party’s campaign appeal: "Maarpu Kaavali, Congress Raavali.’ Rahul Gandhi shared the video message on X (Twitter), saying, "Message from Telangana’s own ‘Sonia Amma’ to the people of the state."

Malkajgiri on Tuesday got an overwhelming response from the people who had gathered in their thousands on either side of the road.

The three leaders danced to the popular song, "Mudu Rangula Jenda Patti" along with Malkajgiri candidate Mynampally Hanumanth Rao, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

Addressing a road show held from Anandbagh Chowrasta to Malkajgiri Chowrasta, Rahul Gandhi said, "My relation with you is not political, but it is a family relation. Telangana is going to witness a 'toofan' (storm) of support for the Congress and the BRS will lose badly."

He said the first aim of the Congress was to "make a people's government in Telangana" by defeating the BRS and after that "dislodge" the Narendra Modi government at the Centre in the Lok Sabha polls in 2024.

Priyanka Gandhi said, "There has been a KCR government for 10 years. Were you given employment?  What was given to women? KCR’s family members were made ministers... If you elect a Congress government, we will fulfill our Six Guarantees, and we will form an honest government for you."
