Only 9% of enumeration forms were filled and returned by electors so far in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral process in Hyderabad, according to the Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana, C Sudarshan Reddy.

At a Meet the Press programme arranged by the Press Club, Hyderabad, he said the update in Hyderabad indicated the number of forms completed remained low at this stage of the enumeration process compared with other districts in Telangana. He said Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district stood at the top in Telangana by achieving 59% in filling and returning the enumeration forms to the BLOs.

In Hyderabad, the BLOs deputed for the SIR process were aware of the areas, but houses were mixed with

different door numbers and, as a result, the distribution of enumeration forms was at a snail’s pace, which the Chief Electoral Officer cited as the reason for recording a low percentage.

The Chief Electoral Officer replied to a query that 3.38 crore enumeration forms were printed for voters who enrolled during the last special intensive revision (SIR) carried out in 2002 in the united Andhra Pradesh.

Specific instructions were given to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure all 3.38 crore enumeration forms reached all voters who enrolled their names in the 2002-SIR. Again, fresh instructions will be issued through the District Election Officer to speed up the SIR and complete the distribution of enumeration forms.
