Siddipet police nab two men stealing copper from transformers

Siddipet police arrested two persons allegedly involved in the theft of as many as 185 electric transformers across Telangana to extract and sell copper wire. Police recovered 272 kg of copper wire, Rs. 3.24 lakh in cash, and a motorcycle from them.

Azharuddin (27) and Mohammad Shakir (28), hail from Rajasthan. Three others — Thelim Khan, Saleem alias Sohail, and Md Akram — are absconding, said Commissioner of Police B Anuradha.

A case was registered based on a complaint lodged by a Transco Assistant Engineer from Kondapak mandal.
