Siddipet: A Siddipet born girl had got a rare opportunity to perform during the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The girl K Nithya Varalaxmi Reddy is a native of Salakpuram village in Maddur Mandal. Nithya, who was studying Engineering second year in a private college Hyderabad, is a disciple of the famous Bharata Natyam Guru Manjula Rama Swamy, who trains her disciples at Sri Rama Nataka Nikethan located at Lothukunta in Hyderabad. After a thorough screening of the host of the classical dancers from across the nation, 10 disciples of Manjula Rama Swamy were selected for the dance performance along with



19 other groups from across the nation. Rama Swamy’s team is the only one to get the rare opportunity from Telangana.

Nithya’s mother Manjula Reddy is working as a teacher at ZPHS Thunkikhalsa village in Wargal Mandal while her father Narasimha Reddy is working as a VRO at Markook.

Speaking to media, Manjula Reddy has said that her daughter made them proud with the performance. Saying that Nithya is training as a classical dancer since she was four years old, the Mother has said that the entire credit goes to her teacher Manjula Rama Swamy. They team has been staying in New Delhi since January 6.
