As part of intensified women’s safety measures during the 85th Nampally Exhibition, the Hyderabad She Teams have caught a total of 264 individuals for alleged women’s harassment and misconduct.
The special teams conducted continuous surveillance and decoy operations at the exhibition grounds from January 1 to February 15. Of those caught, 242 were adults and 22 were
minors.
Police said 188 offenders were counselled in the presence of their family members and released with a warning. Petty cases were registered against 56 persons for serious misbehaviour.
So far, 52 offenders have been fined Rs 1,050 each, while four were awarded two days of imprisonment along with a Rs 1,000 fine. The remaining cases are pending before the court.
