Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister D Anasuya on Tuesday appealed to people to avoid venturing outdoors during peak summer hours in view of the rising temperatures, and directed officials to set up drinking water kiosks in major Gram Panchayats and mandal headquarters.
In an appeal, the Minister said the State has been witnessing an intense rise in temperatures over the past few days. She urged citizens to take necessary precautions to prevent
heat-related illnesses.
“People should refrain from stepping out between 11 am and 3 pm. Instead, complete daily activities between 6 am and 10 am and remain indoors thereafter,” Anasuya said.
In unavoidable situations, she said, people stepping out should cover their heads with caps, towels, or cloth to protect themselves from the heat. She cautioned that failure to take precautions could lead to sunstroke and other serious health complications.
