Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Saturday offered special prayers for Godavari floods to subside.

She visited the Godavari floodwaters at Mangapet and the rehabilitation center set up at the Zilla Parishad High School and later spoke with flood-affected residents. The Minister inspected the progress of Godavari embankment construction works at Mangapet and reviewed the facilities provided after

relocating 112 people from 28 families in areas vulnerable to flooding due to backwater effect to rehabilitation centers.

The minister said that because of heavy rains in the upstream regions, the flood flow in the Godavari River is gradually increasing, and floodwaters may enter the river basin areas. She urged the people to remain alert and instructed officials to stay available to the public at all times and carry out relief operations effectively.
