Secunderabad Madras Regiment Reports Theft of 12 Weapons

A weapons theft was reported at the Madras Regiment in Secunderabad, raising serious security concerns at the military area. 

According to reports, unidentified burglars broke open the lock of a room where weapons were stored and stole 12 weapons, including an INSAS rifle, four AK-47s and six pistols, along with ammunition, on Sunday night. 

The theft came to light after Army officials noticed that the weapons were missing. Security personnel immediately alerted senior authorities, and the Army subsequently informed the Bollarum police on Monday



morning.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the stolen weapons and identify those involved in the theft. Investigators are examining all possible angles, including how the suspects managed to enter the highly secured premises, break open the lock and gain access to the weapons storage room. 

Authorities are also looking into whether the stolen weapons were taken out of the premises immediately or concealed at a nearby location. CCTV footage, security arrangements and the movements of personnel in and around the area are likely to be examined as part of the investigation.
