The State government is ready  for shifting the existing Secretariat to six other places in the city. All the offices including the ministers’ offices in the Secretariat will be shifted to Erramanzil, Bhasheerbagh, Saifabad, Urdu Galli and BRKR Bhavan.
With the state government’s decision to construct a new Secretariat building complex in place of the existing Secretariat, the government has directed the officials of the General Administration Department (GAD) to prepare plans for shifting of the Secretariat offices temporarily to six places.“The date of shifting has not been finalised yet. But, the government asked us to prepare plans for shifting. We are awaiting the shifting date from the CM,” a senior official said.
The state government has decided to construct the new

building at a cost of `500 crore. The roads and buildings department has prepared three draft designs for the same. CM KCR has to finalise one of the three, sources said. For the construction of new buildings for the Secretariat, the existing blocks - A to L - in the Secretariat would be demolished. “Chief secretary Rajiv Sharma is in touch with his AP counterpart. AP almost vacated the blocks allotted to it. A skeletal staff of 40 people are working tehre.
Once, AP staff shifts entirely to Amaravati, all the blocks will be demolished,” sources said. This includes the dilapidated G Block, which was once used by the then CM NT Rama Rao. When AP hands over its blocks, the TS Secretariat currently located in A, B, C, and D Blocks will be shifted to six places including BRKR Bhavan.
