The large-scale redevelopment of the Secunderabad Railway Station, one of the busiest rail hubs in the country, is progressing steadily, with authorities reporting that nearly 64 per cent of the project has been completed.
Taken up under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at an estimated cost of Rs. 714.73 crore, the project aims to transform the historic station into a modern, world-class transit facility capable
of handling growing passenger traffic while offering improved amenities and seamless connectivity. Secunderabad station currently handles around 180 trains every day and witnesses an average daily footfall of nearly 1.5 lakh passengers.
South Central Railway officials said the redevelopment is being carried out in phases while ensuring that train operations and passenger services continue without major disruption.
