Nagarkurnool: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy appealed to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to scrap the Rayalaseema lift irrigation project and support the Telangana government in completing Palamuru Rangareddy and other irrigation projects.

Reminding that Kalwakurthy irrigation project was launched during Telugu Desam Party’s tenure, he urged Chandrababu Naidu not to create hurdles in completing Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project (PRLIP), Dindi, Bheema, Nettampadu and Koilsagar projects.

“Chandrababu Naidu had also adopted the erstwhile Palamuru district in the past. Be responsible and prove your commitment to ensuring the welfare and development of both Telugu States,” Revanth Reddy told his counterpart at a public meeting at Kollapur constituency here on Friday.

“If you do not consider our appeals, we will put up a fight and complete the projects,” Revanth Reddy said.

Charging that the previous government had neglected the development of erstwhile Palamuru district, the Chief Minister promised that Palamuru



Rangareddy Lift Irrigation, Kalwakurthy and other irrigation projects would be completed in two and a half years.

“By December 9 this year, land acquisition for the irrigation projects will be completed and compensation will also be paid for the oustees,” he assured.

Listing out the measures initiated by the Congress government for the welfare of the farming community, the Chief Minister said within one year, farmers’ crop loans of upto Rs.2 lakh were waived by spending Rs.21,000 crore. Similarly, Rythu Bharosa assistance was also deposited in the farmers’ accounts this season, he said.

The BRS leaders were unable to stomach the farming community, youth and women’s welfare under Congress rule in the State. The Young India Integrated School construction at Jetprole in the constituency would be completed in a year, he assured.

Claiming that Congress would continue to be in power, Revanth Reddy said “I will be the Chief Minister till 2034 and deliver Praja Palana governance from Palamuru.”
