SCR to prepare reservation charts 8 hours in advance

The Indian Railways has decided to implement the system of preparing reservation charts preferably 8 hours before the scheduled departure of the charting location (station) of the train.

The second chart, however, will be prepared as per the extant guidelines only, i.e., half an hour before the scheduled departure of the charting location.

In line with this direction, the charting system of all the trains across South Central Railway (SCR) will be implemented as under:

For trains with scheduled departure



between 5 am and 2 pm, the first reservation chart will be prepared preferably by 9 pm of the previous day.

For trains with scheduled departure between 2 pm and 11.59 pm and between 12 am and 5 am, the first reservation chart will be prepared preferably 8 hours in advance.

These instructions shall also be applicable to the earmarked remote locations (stations) of the trains where the first charts are being prepared.

There is no change in extant provisions regarding preparation of second reservation charts.
