Fire safety should become part of everyday school management rather than remain a compliance requirement, senior officials said on Tuesday, urging educational institutions to strengthen emergency preparedness to prevent tragedies.
Director-General, fire safety Vikram Singh Mann, speaking at a programme said regular safety audits, awareness
and preparedness could save lives.
Addressing 500 school owners, correspondents, principals and senior administrators from across Telangana, director of school education E. Naveen Nicolas said every child had the right to study in a safe environment and called on schools to make fire safety an integral part of campus governance.
