Thundershowers at isolated locations in Hyderabad on Wednesday brought some respite to people who have been struggling with the heat for the past few days.

The thundershowers were isolated, as areas like Uppal, Badangpet, BN Reddy Nagar, Nagole, Tarnaka, Habsiguda, Vanasthalipuram, Hayathnagar, Kapra and ECIL received light to moderate showers in the evening. However, the weather was completely dry in core areas of Secunderabad and parts of the Cantonment Board.

Thundershowers were also reported in Banjara Hills and Punjagutta while Gachibowli, Miyapur and Kukatpally did not witness rain.

Hayathnagar received about 25 mm of rainfall followed by 19.3



mm in Riyasathnagar in Bandlaguda, 12.3 mm in Saroornagar, Viratnagar, DMRL in Saroornagar received about 11.3 mm, Tolichowki received 10 mm, according to the rainfall data available with Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD-Hyderabad) in its forecast on Wednesday evening issued a heavy rainfall warning in Adilabad, KumuramBheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rajanna Siricilla, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mahabubabad, Siddipet, Medak and Kamareddy districts for the next 24 hours.

All the remaining districts in the State can expect thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places, the IMD added.
