The City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar issued a stern warning against individuals and content creators who use minors in indecent or inappropriate social media content to gain views and likes.
In a post on X, Sajjanar questioned, “When values fade in the illusion of views—what are we becoming?” He condemned the trend of involving children in objectionable videos, stressing that such acts amount to child exploitation and are punishable under
the POCSO Act and the Juvenile Justice Act.
The Commissioner urged creators to instead focus on producing meaningful content that inspires youth and highlights role models who contribute positively to society.
He reminded that creating or sharing indecent content involving minors is not only unethical but also a criminal offense. Strict action will be taken against those involved in producing or uploading such material, he warned.
