RTA cracks down on private buses over exorbitant Sankranti fares

 Regional Transport Authority (RTA) carried out surprise inspections in Rajendranagar on Friday, targeting private travel buses which were reportedly charging exorbitant fares ahead of the Sankranti festival.

The checks were conducted at Aramghar crossroads, where



officials stopped and inspected private buses operating from Hyderabad to Kerala, Bengaluru, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and several destinations in Andhra Pradesh.

The action comes amid complaints that passengers were being overcharged by private travel operators during the festive rush.
