Rs.1.38 Cr in Demonetized Currency Seized in Kazipet, eight Held

The Kazipet police arrested eight persons for allegedly attempting to circulate demonetized Rs.500 and Rs.1,000 currency notes illegally in Kazipet. 

The police seized old currency notes worth Rs.1.38 crore from the accused. They also recovered Rs.6,000 in valid currency, 10



mobile phones and a car from the possession of the arrested persons. 

The gang was caught during vehicle checks, police said. The police were baffled as to how the accused managed to secure the demonetized currency notes in large numbers and planned to circulate it.
