A bridge will come up at Mir Alam Tank with Rs 430 crore with the state government according the administrative sanction. The sanction was done on Thursday for the construction of this iconic bridge across Mir Alam Tank connecting Bengaluru National Highway at Shastripuram to Chintalmet Road under engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode. The works will be executed by the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) and the orders were issued by the Metropolitan Area and Urban Development (MA&UD).
MRDCL will invite tenders under the EPC model,
even as the process of land acquisition continues in parallel. The land required for the project is still being acquired and will progress alongside construction activities. A project management consultancy (PMC) agency will be appointed through a tender process to oversee supervision, quality control, quality assurance and audit of the works. Designs and drawings submitted by the EPC agency will be vetted by a reputed technical institute — such as IIT-Hyderabad, NIT-Warangal or JNTU-Hyderabad—subject to clearance by the PMC agency.
