The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Secunderabad Division, has recovered and returned lost passenger belongings worth over Rs 2.24 crore under ‘Operation Amanat’ during the first six months of this year.

Between January and June 2026, the RPF has solved 658 cases, restoring valuables to their rightful owners.

According to RPF authorities, since January 2024, the division has resolved 2,747 cases and recovered property worth more than Rs 7.28 crore, including luggage, laptops, mobile phones, jewellery, cash, and



important documents.

In 2025, the RPF recovered valuables worth Rs 2.53 crore in 1,111 cases, while in 2024, it restored property worth Rs 2.50 crore across 978 cases.

Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Alakunta Naveen Kumar said that what may appear to be a forgotten bag often contains a person’s hard-earned savings or essential documents.

The RPF has advised passengers who lose any item during travel to immediately call the Railway Helpline 139 or inform the nearest RPF post or railway staff.
