Charging the Congress government with betraying the people of the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district by sidelining the nearly completed Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, BRS working president KT Rama Rao predicted a complete rout for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in Kodangal and the Congress party across the State in next Assembly elections.
Addressing a review meeting with BRS leaders from the undivided Mahabubnagar district on Sunday, Rama Rao said people have become increasingly disillusioned with the Congress government. He accused the government of prioritising commissions and contracts over irrigation
needs.
“The decision to keep the Palamuru-Rangareddy project on the back burner had deprived lakhs of acres of agricultural land of irrigation benefits. The Congress government has failed to complete projects crucial to the district’s growth while focusing on political considerations,” he said.
The BRS working president asserted that Revanth Reddy, who frequently identifies himself as a son of Palamuru, has failed to deliver on the district’s aspirations. He predicted that the Chief Minister would face defeat in Kodangal and would be held responsible for unfulfilled promises and developmental neglect.
