BRS Assembly Whip KP Vivekananda on Friday accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of indulging in theatrics in Delhi while failing to fulfil promises made to Backward Classes (BCs) in Telangana.
Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, Vivekananda termed the Congress-led government’s BC caste census a “total flop” and alleged that Revanth Reddy was misleading the public by portraying a routine letter from Sonia Gandhi as if it were an “Oscar award” celebrating his leadership.
He claimed that the Chief Minister had not only betrayed the BC communities in Telangana but also misled top Congress leaders — Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjuna Kharge — about the caste census. “Instead of implementing BC reservations, Revanth is seeking attention in Delhi
through empty drama,” he said.
Vivekananda also criticised Revanth for allegedly belittling BC voices and demanded an apology for insulting BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan, who had questioned the government on BC reservation implementation.
Joining him, BRS leader Kyama Mallesh said the Chief Minister had come to power through false promises and continued to deceive BCs with election stunts. He slammed Congress leaders for launching personal attacks on former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao while failing to deliver on governance. He also questioned the credibility of the Chief Minister’s statements in the ongoing phone-tapping controversy.
Mallesh warned that the BRS would intensify its fight to secure fair reservations and hold the Congress government accountable.
