Revanth Reddy praises Chandrababu Naidu for developing HITEC City

Amidst escalating differences among Congress leaders and recent outbursts by a few MLAs, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said in politics 10 people aspire to occupy a particular position but only one succeeds and nine others get disappointed.

This disappointment varies. It could be about a family, community, region or even individuals. However, when individuals fall prey to misconceptions created by a few vested interests and spread the same like wildfire, ultimately it would result in a severe loss to everybody, he said here on Friday.

The Chief Minister was speaking after formally launching the CREDAI Property Show at HITEX, Madhapur.

The Chief Minister in contrast to his statements made in the Assembly crediting former Chief Minister N Janardhan Reddy for development of HITEC City, showered praises on his counterpart and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

“A few people like him and a few others do not get recognised but the credit for developing HITEC City goes to Chandrababu Naidu,” Revanth Reddy stressed.

Stating that political parties have their own interests and priorities, the Chief Minister said the State government does not want to settle scores through policies.

“When someone wants to settle scores personally with me, I will not mind. But at the same time, State’s growth and development will not be compromised. I am here to protect your investments and profits as well,” Revanth Reddy told the CREDAI members.

Reiterating his commitment to develop pollution-free Future City, the Chief Minister said



there was severe criticism and some had even dubbed it as “Four Brothers City”. “Ultimately, the city is being developed for people. Why should I care about these comments?” he asked.

Accusing the previous government of neglecting the Metro Rail expansion for 10 years, the Chief Minister said had the Metro services expanded to new areas, it could have aided in addressing traffic issues to a certain extent.

“Why was Metro connectivity not planned for international airport?” he questioned, adding that the Congress government redesigned the Metro expansion connecting LB Nagar, Nagole, Chandrayangutta, agricultural university and airport.

When former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy made an appeal during former Prime Minister and late Manmohan Singh’s tenure to allot defence lands, not an inch of land was transferred, he reminded.

“Soon after becoming the Chief Minister, I personally persuaded and got 200 acres of defence lands for elevated corridor from Paradise to Rajiv Rahadari and Shamirpet,” Revanth Reddy stressed.

The Chief Minister said that the Congress government was facing a severe economic crisis due to mounting debts and interest burden. To overcome the crisis, an appeal was made to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for debt restructuring, he explained.

“Accordingly, restructuring of Rs 26,000 crore loans at 7.5 per cent interest rate for 35 years is achieved,” Revanth Reddy said, adding that the Union government should also rescue the State in the crisis time and appealed to the Prime Minister to restructure Rs 2 lakh crore loans.
