Civil Supplies Commissioner Stephen Ravindra here on Tuesday clarified that there is ample supply of petrol and diesel in the State.
In a statement, he explained that on Monday, 29,939 kilolitres of petrol and diesel were supplied, exceeding the demand.
He said that on an average, there was a demand of 5,883 kilolitres of petrol and 7,348 kilolitres
of diesel per day. But on Monday, 11,490 kilolitres of petrol and 18,449 kilolitres of diesel were supplied to motorists.
He said that the supply is being monitored regularly with field level officials and representatives of petrol companies.
The Civil Supplies Commissioner advised consumers not to hoard petrol and diesel due to misconceptions.
