With the beginning of the astronomical winter calendar on Tuesday, the minimum temperatures in various parts of the State plummeted by five to six degrees. While Rajendranagar recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 8.4 degree Celsius, Ginnedari of Kumram Bheem Asifabad shivered at 3.5 degree Celsius in the early hours of Tuesday.

This was the second time that the lowest minimum temperature in Telangana dipped below 4 degree Celsius in December. The last time a temperature of 3.5 degree Celsius was recorded in the State was at Adilabad, on December 27, 2017.

Several parts of the city recorded single digit temperatures for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday. The overall minimum temperature was 10.8 degrees Celsius, which was at least four degrees lesser than normal. 

According to the



forecast by India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad, the city is likely to witness foggy mornings.

As per Telangana State Development Planning Society officials, the minimum temperature of many localities, including Uppal, Khairatabad, Charminar and Kukatpally is likely to drop by two to four degrees in the next couple of days.

Meanwhile, 29 of the 33 districts of Telangana saw the night temperature dipping below 10 degree Celsius on Tuesday. Observing the situation, IMD-H has issued an orange alert for Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagitial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu and Medak districts. The minimum temperature in these places is likely to drop by at least three degrees in the next five days.
