As the monsoon got active after a brief lull, rains that commenced lashing parts of Telangana on Sunday are expected to continue for next few days, albeit with lesser intensity.
The rainfall was heavy on Sunday in Kamareddy, Vikarabad and Narayanpet districts while it was moderate in Hyderabad and surrounding areas. The highest rainfall in State of 110 mm was recorded at Shankarampet in Medak yesterday, while the city and vicinities recorded the highest of 23.8 mm at
Ameenpur.
On Monday, according to data till 5 pm provided by the Telangana Development Planning Society, the highest rainfall of 39 mm was at Ayyagaripalle in Mahabubabad, while in and around Hyderabad, it was 16 mm at Ghatkesar.
According to the IMD-Hyderabad forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected to continue in most places across Telangana for the next week. However, yellow alerts amid possibilities of heavy rainfall have been issued for some of the districts.
