The Secunderabad Railway Police on Saturday arrested two real-estate brokers for offering drinking water laced with sedatives to a passenger and later stealing his valuables.
The accused have been identified as Batha Prasad alias Prasad (39) of Gowliguda and Korapati Narsing Rao (44) of Rasoolpura. A mobile phone, Rs.500 in cash and intoxicated tablets were seized from the possession of the arrested persons, said Railway Deputy Superintendent of Police, Secunderabad Division, SN Jawed.

both the accused were known to each other for the last five years. They were habituated to consuming alcohol and other bad habits. Both the accused decided to commit property offences by mixing intoxicating tablets in food items or beverages in trains.
Accordingly, on August 17, they came to Secunderabad Railway Station in the afternoon. They were carrying a water bottle containing water mixed with intoxicated tablets, which they concealed in their bag. At about 1.30 pm, they boarded the S-3 coach of Sabari Superfast Express.
