The State Public Service Commission would take up recruitment of teachers for government schools after the recruitment of posts in residential schools was completed, the Education Minister, K.Srihari said.

“Once the teachers’ recruitment is taken up, it will take at least six months to complete the process,” he told presspersons after a meeting of District Education Officers here on Sunday.

The Minister said that State government has accorded permission for 8792 teacher posts and TSPSC would take up recruitment process.“The DEOs meanwhile, have been asked to involve the services of vidya volunteers,” he said.

Mr. Srihari said that Prof. Jayashankar Badi Bata would be conducted for enrolling children in the government schools from April 3 to 13 and public representatives, district collectors, school management committees will take part in



it.

Stating that earlier there was delay in providing uniforms to students, he said that all students would get their uniforms by June 15.The Minister said there was shortage of textbook of a few titles and by April 15 all government school students would get their textbooks.

Mr. Srihari said that he had instructed the DEOs to fill in gaps with regards to amenities in the schools by June 20. “All the schools will have one each toilet for boys and girls, running water and maintenance,” he said.

The Minister mentioned that all high schools, Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas, residential schools and Model Schools would be equipped with digital classrooms.

“Not just equipment, quality content will also be provided to schools and to this effect instructors are given to DEOs,” he said, adding that Mid-Day meal bills would be paid by 10th of every month.
