A private travels bus hit a tanker carrying chemical on the Macharam flyover near Jadcherla on Thursday morning, with officials stating that all passengers escaped unhurt.

Around 26 passengers were travelling in the bus, which was heading to Hyderabad from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. The bus rammed the tanker from behind, causing

hydrochloride acid to spill onto the road.

The bus driver immediately asked all passengers to alight, and in the rush a few suffered minor injuries. Reports said the acid was non combustible, so there was no fire, and a major mishap was averted.

Fire tenders were deployed, and personnel brought the situation under control.
