Prison dept denies reports of terror plot at Cherlapally jail

The Telangana Prisons Department on Saturday described as baseless the reports of some persons meeting with ‘terror convicts’ in the Central Prison Cherlapally and planning terror attacks in the city.

DIG Prisons (Hyderabad Range) Dr D Srinivas said the news being circulated is factually incorrect, baseless, and not supported by any



verified information. 

“Upon verification with prison authorities and concerned intelligence agencies, it has been clearly confirmed that no such incident has taken place. 

There is no credible intelligence input indicating any unlawful activity or conspiracy as alleged in news media,” said D Srinivas.
