BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday asked Union Home Minister Amit Shah to apologise to the people of Telangana before his November 2 visit to Hyderabad, alleging that remarks made by Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the state had hurt public sentiments.

Speaking to Media, Prabhakar said Shah was welcome to visit Telangana and that the state government would provide all necessary arrangements despite objections

being raised by some traders.

However, he said Shah should apologise to the people of Telangana and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the formation of the state, which was achieved after a prolonged struggle.

Prabhakar alleged that Shah had criticised Telangana on several occasions in Parliament and that Modi had also made remarks against the state, which he described as an insult to its people.
