Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Monday said that protecting the lives and property of people is the primary responsibility of the government. 

He said rapid response, inter-departmental coordination and advance preparedness are critical during emergencies such as floods, fire accidents and industrial disasters. 

As part of the State-wide disaster management mock exercises conducted across Telangana, the Minister on Monday inspected the large-scale flood mock drill



organised at the HMDA Grounds, Necklace Road in Hyderabad, along with senior officials of various departments.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the first hour during any disaster is extremely crucial and the actions taken during that ?golden hour? can save lives. 

He stated that such mock drills are highly useful for safely evacuating people, carrying out swift rescue operations and coordinating emergency services effectively during floods, fire accidents and sudden disasters.
