Polytechnic students demand immediate withdrawal of GO 97

Government Polytechnic, Patancheru students staged a protest against GO Ms No 97, which integrates government polytechnics with the Young India Skills University (YISU) that has been established under a public-private partnership.

Students raised slogans demanding the immediate withdrawal of GO 97 and protection of the existing identity and academic system of Government Polytechnics in the State. They said



proposed changes could adversely affect the existing polytechnic education system, diploma students and their future educational opportunities.

Protesters urged the State government to consider their concerns and safeguard the future of lakhs of diploma students. Students emphasised the importance of protecting the existing polytechnic education system, SBTET framework and opportunities for diploma holders.
