As part of the Arrive Alive initiative launched by the government and to mark the ongoing road safety week, police distributed blankets to 150 tribals from four villages and sports kits to youngsters at a programme held at Burki village in Adilabad Rural mandal on Monday. SP Akhil Mahajan was the chief guest at the event.

Akhil advised the tribals to strictly follow road

safety norms to reduce casualties. He asked them to wear helmets while riding two-wheelers. He also told them to encourage their children to pursue higher education.

He urged them to stay away from the consumption of liquor, banned ganja and narcotic substances. He requested them not to practise child marriages and not to follow superstitious beliefs and self-styled babas.
