To ensure smooth vehicular movement and minimise congestion, the Hyderabad Traffic Police have introduced drone surveillance to monitor traffic and parking arrangements during the annual Bonalu celebrations at Golconda Fort.

The Bonalu festivities, being held under the jurisdiction of the Golconda Traffic Zone, began on July 16 and will continue until August 13.

Officials said elaborate traffic bandobust arrangements have been put in place across the area. The

traffic management operations are being monitored in real time using drones.

According to police, the drones are providing aerial surveillance of key traffic diversion points, designated parking areas and major approach roads to help officials identify congestion, regulate traffic flow and prevent unauthorised roadside parking.

The technology also enables traffic personnel to guide motorists to available parking spaces and respond quickly to emerging bottlenecks.
