Amid allegations of killing around 1,000 stray dogs over the past few months, some unknown persons were booked for allegedly poisoning stray dogs to death in the town on Wednesday.

Nizamabad fourth town police said that a case was registered against unidentified persons under Section 325 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) (Mischief



by killing or maiming animal, criminalizing intentional harm, poisoning, or killing of any animal), based on a complaint from Goutham Adulapuram, from Stray Animal Foundation of India based in Karimnagar town.

A foundation statement said around 1,000 stray dogs were killed in Nizamabad municipal corporation over the last 7 months.
