Special teams from Mir Chowk police station on Saturday arrested Harish Kumar Singla, a Gurugram-based country sales manager with an import firm, for allegedly cheating people of Rs 3 crore through a digital marketing scheme in Hyderabad by promising easy money.

He was wanted in three cases registered at the Rein Bazaar, Mirchowk and Madannapet police stations. Police said Harish lured people into the scheme by asking them to promote his employer company’s products, recruit new members and pay fees instead of earning through product

sales.

He allegedly targeted youth aged 18 to 24 years and housewives by offering work-from-home, part-time job opportunities.

Harish had allegedly posted advertisement videos displaying a rich lifestyle on social media platforms to attract the innocent public.

Charminar DCP Kiran Khare said Harish conducted online and offline training sessions for agents, managers and FBOs working under him. They collected Rs 199, Rs 200 and Rs 249 as admission or registration fees for training and promoted packages such as slow, medium and fast track at different rates.
