The main source of Revenue for GHMC is Property Tax.
The Govt., has issued a G.O with regard to waiver of penalty of property tax.
G.O.Rt.No. 91, MA&UD, Dated: 20.02.2016 has been issued today.
With this waiver of penalty Rs. 532.57 crores will be benefited to the Property tax payers.
GHMC has to get around Rs. 2,078 crores dues from property tax payers.
Around Rs. 619.39 crores old dues due to waiver of penalty Rs. 474.33 has been waived off.
GHMC has to get 1029.28 crores towards the property tax out of which 58.24 crores have been waived off. This waiver of penalty will be benefited to 6,24,709 tax payers.
The Government has waived property tax from Rs.1,200 to pay only Rs. 101. To this effect about 5,05,171 will be benefited amount involved Rs. 85.63 crores
Those tax payers who have paid penalty for this year the same amount will be adjusted in future.
H.W.Mayor and Commissioner, GHMC has appealed all the tax payers to pay their property tax immediately not waiting till cutoff date.
The Property tax can be paid in Citizen Service Centres available at all the Circle Offices and Head Office.
With regard to property tax dues on Government buildings a special meeting will be conducted to clear the dues.
A meeting will also be conducted with AP Secretariat and other Government departments with Chief Secretary and senior officials of the Government.
Last date for BPS and LRs applications is on 01.03.2016. So far 1,18,615 BPS applications has been received. 60,005 applications has been received towards the LRS.
