A group of persons with disabilities staged a protest in front of the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, demanding that the State government address their long-pending welfare demands.

The protesters sought employment opportunities, double-bedroom houses, free bus travel and other welfare measures. They said better livelihood opportunities, housing and accessible

public transport were essential for ensuring a dignified life for persons with disabilities.

Persons with disabilities have been seeking greater implementation of welfare and reservation measures, besides access to employment, housing and social security benefits. The protesters urged the government to take their concerns seriously and initiate steps to address their demands.
