Peddapalli Municipal engineer arrested while accepting bribe

An Assistant Engineer from the municipality was arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a contractor in Peddapalli town on Tuesday.  

The ACB officials said that the engineer, Satheesh, was harassing the contractor seeking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh to clear the bill of a work taken up by the



municipality. The contractor approached the ACB which in turn laid the trap and caught him red-handed.

On July 9, An Assistant Engineer of Panchayat Raj department Paidi Sathish was trapped while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 in Gangadhara mandal centre. He demanded the bribe to process official records of works executed under Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
