BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday said the results of the first and second phase of panchayat elections had sent a clear message that the Congress government was fast losing public confidence across rural Telangana.
The ruling party’s poor performance in elections held without party symbols reflected
deep-rooted dissatisfaction among villagers with the Congress’s two-year rule.
“If this is the fate of the Congress in non-party elections, its defeat in MPTC and ZPTC polls conducted with party symbols will be even more humiliating,” he said, calling the results a slap in the face for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
