Visitors in large numbers thronged the Nehru Zoological Park on the occasion of New Year’s Day on Thursday. According to the officials, the zoo played host to around 25,900 visitors today.
All the officers and staff members of the zoo were deployed at different locations for constant vigil and free movement of visitors. The online booking system, with a feature of booking tickets on
mobile phones, helped the visitors in quick entry into the zoo. However, additional booking counters were also opened, officials said.
Security guards and staff members were deployed at all the animal enclosures to safeguard the animals and also assist visitors in better sighting of wild animals. More number of visitors was seen at the enclosures of tigers, lions, elephants, giraffes and zebras.
