Demanding facilities, including accommodation for the parents who visit them, women students of the Osmania University staged a protest Wednesday overnight and continued Thursday morning as well.
Students who squatted on the main road near the Arts College complained that Centenary Girls Hostel staff insulted a student’s parent by not allowing her inside the
hostel when she came to visit her ward.
Despite the student’s mother explaining that she had come from far away, she was not allowed inside the hostel for some time, students said, adding that repeated requests to the hostel staff did not yield a positive response. They demanded the university arrange accommodation for parents who visit their children in the campus.
