Demanding release of recruitment notifications for vacancies in different government departments, student unions organised a massive protest rally from Main Library to Arts College on the Osmania University campus here on Tuesday.
Protesters said despite the unemployed youth demanding the government release recruitment notifications for 20,000 vacancies in the Police department, the
administrative sanction for only 5,000 was given.
They wanted the government to increase the number of posts to 20,000. They also wanted filling up of vacant teaching and non-teaching posts in the universities.
Apart from unemployment allowance as assured during last assembly elections, the university students wanted an announcement and implementation of an annual job calendar.
