Osmania University non-teaching staff stage protest, seek pension benefits

Pressing for a series of demands, a large number of non-teaching staff members of Osmania University (OU) staged a protest on the university campus here on Wednesday. They marched from Arts College and later staged a sit-in at the Administrative Building.

The staff demanded the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme for employees appointed between 2001



and 2004, and the Contributory Pension Scheme for those appointed after September 1, 2004.

The protesters also demanded that the university issue internal notifications for promotions among non-gazetted officers (NGOs) and technical employees. They sought promotions to the posts of Assistant Registrar and University Building Division Officers, among others.
