Organs of a 33-year-old cathlab technician, Madunurolla Srikanth, resident of Chevella, who was declared brain dead by doctors, were donated to needy patients by family members, as part of the state-run Jeevandan scheme.

On October 5, Srikanth received serious injuries when his two-wheeler collided with another two-wheeler at Shivampet, Sangareddy and was admitted to a private



hospital in Hyderabad.

After emergency treatment, Srikanth was declared brain dead on October 14 and his wife, Madunurolla Sarika, decided to donate his liver, heart and kidneys to needy patients.

A green channel was created for the rapid transport of the donor heart from KIMS Hospital, Kondapur to NIMS, Punjagutta, covering the distance of 15 km in just 17 minutes.
